On October 7, 2009, Resolution No. 234 -09 was passed in order to allow the County to
accept monies from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant, whose funds are derived
from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
The County of Hawaii has been awarded $8,892 in additional VOCA ARRA funds from
the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General. These funds are provided in
order to continue to provide assistance to victims of felony and misdemeanor violent
crimes. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the FY2011 -12 Operating Budget
by appropriating these funds into the Victims of Crime Act -ARRA account.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Nancy Kelly of the Prosecuting
Attorney's office at 934 -3315.
