Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 112-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 112-11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 286, dated July 21, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation
of nine pieces of physical fitness equipment, with an estimated value of$5,800 from an
anonymous source. The Police Department indicates that this equipment will be used in their
Public Safety Building's weight room.
Police Officer Aaron Carvalho (Administration—Training) appeared before Your Committee.
Police Officer Carvalho provided a brief description of the physical fitness equipments and
available to the members should they have any further questions.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 112-11,
and recommends its adoption.
