Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of new Ocean Safety equipment valued at
$9,963.36 from the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua Kona,
Hawaii 96745. This equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean
Safety division to facilitate the delivery of safety services, preventive actions and basic
emergency life support by Water Safety Officers.

Please prepare a resolution to accept a donation of new Ocean Safety equipment (surfboards, AEDs, and
megaphones) valued at $9,963.36 from Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, and send a letter of

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation is offered from the Sayre Foundation to the Hawai'i Fire Department's Ocean Safety division
and consists of 4 Surftech rescue surfboards $4,887.00; 2 Zoll AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) for
$3,922.88; and 8 Recreonics Fanon megaphones $1,153.48.
The donation will provide needed equipment to facilitate the delivery of safety services, preventive actions
and basic emergency life support by Water Safety Officers.
