We are in desperate need of this to protect our water supply, to preserve our environment and also to satisfy the EPA regulations. Our neighborhood is in the center of town, so directly affects the appearance as well as the atmosphere of our lovely town. We depend on our tourism trade, and an unkept area that is in direct view of our visitors can reflect badly. I have been in areas where septic systems have been installed, and the smell is awful. Two cases in point: McDonald's in Kealakekua and old airport beach. I shutter to think of what Kailua town would smell like if the entire neighborhood was forced to install these systems. That does not even take into consideration that many of the lots are not large enough to even adequately support such a system. Please add my voice to the support of installing the sewer line to include our neighborhood.
