Subject: Ban on plastic bags
Ever since businesses provided plastic bags to carry our bought items, people
have been re -using it for various reasons. Our family uses these bags to line
our small wastebaskets, to throw away food waste that cannot be placed in the
garbage disposal, to put "gifts" (vegetables, fruits, etc.) to be given to friends,
to carry dirty gym clothes before placing it in our gym bags - these are just a
few ways we use these bags.
Not every one has compose bin - which after awhile begins to smell like
piggery; not every household has a garbage disposal, and you can be assured
that more rubbish will end up on streets /roads.
How about this council working on more important things (like being able to
work together as one!!!), fixing our budget, getting more funds to fix our roads,
and leaving "small" things alone.
I ask each of you to rethink this bill and NOT ALLOW IT TO BECOME a
law /ordinance.
Thank you.
