I support Res.60 -11 which would give "breathing room" to the community by allowing for a temporary moratorium on development zoning changes for Ka'u until their CDP is completed or in 18 months, whichever comes first. This type of pause in development permitting is necessary and will not be deleterious to the region economically, despite the expected outcry of "anything goes" development advocates. Permitting for development projects on this island is far ahead of building those developments, and BUILD - OUT SHOULD OCCUR BEFORE NEW PERMITTING OCCURS — at all times and in all cases. Please help the communities of Ka'u prepare for a brighter future through Smart planning and balanced growth. Mahalo for your consideration of my views.
