Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $750 from the Children's Justice
Grant Task Force of West Hawaii, c/o CJC -WH 77 -6403 Nalani Street, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii
96740. These funds are being given to the Hawaii Police Department to help cover the costs
to bring a canine trainer to Hilo to work with a dog and handler.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
funds into the Hawaii Police Department's miscellaneous "Training" account.

To accept a donation of $750.00 from Children's Justice Grant Task Force of West Hawai'i to cover training
and transportion costs of the trainer and donated canine under account number 010 - 201 - 5215.05.341.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Children's Justice Grant Task Force of West Hawai'i is donating funds to cover the training and transportion
costs to bring the trainer and canine to Hilo. The trainer will conduct training with the dog handler and
canine.

Dear Chief Kubojiri:
The Children's Justice Grant Task Force of West Hawaii' would like to donate $750.00 to
the Hawaii Police Department for the purpose of funding the training and equipment fees
for the HPD officer in charge of the recently acquired scent discriminating tracking dog.
This donation is in response to a recent grant application from HPD to our organization.
We are pleased to make this contribution in support of the investigations of missing
children who may be victims of child abuse and/or sexual assault.
