SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAHAKAI ROAD: Proposed Right Tum Prohibition at Alii Drive
We received a request to prohibit right turns onto Alii Drive from Kahakai Road. This request is
due to a number of vehicles crossing the centerline when turning right onto Alii Drive, creating a
hazardous condition at this intersection. A location map is attached.
Bitl No. 300, our proposal for aone-way traffic pattern along Kahakai Road, was closed and filed
by the Public Works Committee of the Hawaii County Council on November 17, 1998, largely
due to public opposition.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you
