Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $750 from the Friends of the
Children's Justice Center, East Hawaii, P. O. Box 6908, Hilo, Hawaii 96720. These funds are
being given to the Hawaii Police Department to help cover the costs to bring a canine trainer
to Hilo to work with a dog and handler.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
funds into the Hawai'i Police Department's miscellaneous "Training" account.

and transportion costs of the trainer and donated canine under account number 010 - 201 - 5215.05.341.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Friends of the Children's Justice Center of East Hawai'i is donating funds to cover the training and
transportion costs to bring the trainer and canine to Hilo. The trainer will conduct training with the dog
handler and canine.
