Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $750 from the Children's Justice
Grant Task Force of East Hawaii, do CJC -EH 77 -1290 Kinoole Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
These funds are being given to the Hawaii Police Department to help cover the costs to bring
a canine trainer to Hilo to work with a dog and handler.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
funds into the Hawaii Police Department's miscellaneous "Training" account.

To accept a donation of $750.00 from Children's Justice Grant Task Force of East Hawai'i to cover training
and transportion costs of the trainer and donated canine under account number 010 - 201 - 5215.05.341.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Children's Justice Grant Task Force of East Hawaii is donating funds to cover the training and transportion
costs to bring the trainer and canine to Hilo. The trainer will conduct training with the dog handler and
canine.

The Children's Justice Grant Task Force of Fast Hawaii would like to donate 5750.00 to
the Hawaii Police Department for the purpose of funding the training and transport of a
scent discriminating tracking dog and its trainer from 'north Carolina to Hilo. It is our
understanding that once in Hilo. the trainer will conduct additional training with the dog
and its handler as well as the handler of another recently acquired tracking dog in West
Hawaii.
We are pleased to make this contribution in support of the investigations of missing
children who may be victims of child abuse and or sexual assault.
