Impact: 3,996 elderly (duplicated number) were served by the Food Distribution
Project, Hawai`i County Nutrition Program (congregate meals and home delivered meals) and a
faith -based organization, Under His Wings.
Outcome: Partially as a result of RSVP services:
Food Distribution Project — 1,650 elderly served. 98% of those surveyed indicated improved
diets leading to healthier lives and greater independence.
Hawai `i County Nutrition Program — 1,613 elderly served. 95% (1,532 elderly) remained
independent thereby avoiding premature institutionalization. This was measured by the Hawaii
County Nutrition Program (HCNP) client termination reports.
Under His Wings — 757 homeless served (monthly average). 9,086 duplicated homeless and
under - served needy received food, clothing, shower services and companionship.
