Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 126-11, reports-as follows:
Resolution No. 126-11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 323, dated August 24, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of the donation of
Ocean Safety Equipment for use by the Hawai`i Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division. The
new Ocean Safety equipment is valued at $9,963.36 from the Daniel Sayre Memorial
Foundation. This equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean Safety
division to facilitate the delivery of safety services, preventive actions and basic emergency life
support by Water Safety Officers.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285,
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745 for this generous donation.
Your Committee members extend their gratitude to the Sayre Foundation, Frank and Laura Sayre
and their volunteers.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 126-11,
and recommends its adoption.
