SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 140 -11 Requesting the Hawaii State
Association of Counties to Include in its 2012 Legislative Package a Resolution
Urging the Legislature of The State of Hawai'i to Amend Chapter 188, Hawai'i
Revised Statutes Relating to Prohibiting the Sale of Aquatic Life for Aquarium
Purposes and Amend Existing Section 188F -4, Hawai`i Revised Statutes
Please see below a proposed amendment to Exhibit 1 which is attached to Exhibit A to
Resolution No. 140 -11. The proposed amendment is illustrated below in Ramseyer format and
bolded for emphasis. Material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken through; material to be
added is underscored.
The definition of "Aquarium fish collection" as provided in Exhibit 1 which is attached to
Exhibit A of Resolution No. 140 -11, is amended to read as follows:
" "Aquarium fish collection" means the collection of any marine or freshwater aquatic life[.]
for aquarium purposes."
