Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 141-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 141-11, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 91, by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 346, dated September 7, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a
monetary donation of$750 from the Children's Justice Grant Task Force of West Hawaii to the
Hawai`i Police Department to help cover the costs to bring a canine trainer to Hilo to work with
a dog and handler.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to the Children's Justice Grant
Task Force of West Hawaii at 77-6403 Nalani Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i 96740
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 141-11,
and recommends its adoption.
