Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 142-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 142-11, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 92, by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 347, dated September 7, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a
monetary donation of$750 from the Friends of the Children's Justice Center, East Hawai`i to the
Hawaii Police Department to help cover the costs to bring a canine trainer to Hilo to work with
a dog and handler.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to the Friends of the Children's
Justice Center, East Hawaii, at P.O. Box 6908, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 142-11,
and recommends its adoption.
