Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 145-11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 145-11, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 95,by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 350, dated September 7, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a
monetary donation of$500 from the Kona Crime Prevention Committee to the Hawaii Police
Department to help cover the costs to bring a canine trainer to Hilo to work with a dog and
handler.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to the Kona Crime Prevention
Committee at P.O. Box 2043, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 145-11,
and recommends its adoption.
