Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 95, reports as follows:
Bill No. 95, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 145-11, by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 350, dated September 7, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11-59,
as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2012. The amendment is as follows:

010.3607.00 Contribution from Private Source General $500
To:
010.201.5215.05 Misc. Police—Training Account General $500
This authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation of$500 from the Kona Crime Prevention
Committee to the Hawaii Police Department to help cover the costs to bring canine trainer to
Hilo to work with a dog and handler
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
Council Member Ford, on behalf of the Council, expressed gratitude to all the organizations
which made these generous donations to the Hawaii Police Department.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 95, and
recommends it pass first reading.
