The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program
is providing an additional funding of $49,000 to the Hawaii County Police Department's
Roadblock program. The funds will be used to purchase one (1) Honda Tele -Lite TEU 1000D
Generator /Spotlight, one (1) CMI Intoxilyzer 5000 EN, Duro -Flash LED Road Flares, to
provide Department of Health Intoxilyzer Instructor Training and to allow Police Officers to
attend the DRE training in Honolulu. This will increase the total appropriation for this fiscal
year from $95,000 to $144,000.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional
funds into the HCPD Roadblock program account.

The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs -Safe Community Program is providing a grant to be
used to allow Police Officers to attend the DRE training in Honolulu. Funds will also be used to purchase 1
