Re: Parker Ranch Inc., Change of Zone Application (REZ 08 -83)
Aloha Pete,
It was certainly a pleasure meeting with you yesterday. Thank you again for
providing Dutch and I the time to sit with you.
At this time Parker Ranch does not wish to proceed with the Change of Zone for
those parcels, identified in the Application, as they are currently assessing their
priorities including that of the Waimea Town Center Plan and their fiduciary
responsibilities to their beneficiaries.
Parker Ranch will proceed with the land exchange with the Department of
Education (DOE). Under this exchange Parker Ranch will provide an
approximately 4.988 acre portion of TMK 6 -7 -08: 93 (formerly TMK 6 -7 -2: 17) to
the State of Hawaii; in exchange Parker Ranch will receive an approximately
0.78 acre portion of TMK 6 -7 -2: 15.
As there are no immediate plans for either Parker Ranch or DOE to construct
anything on any of the parcels, Parker Ranch has determined that the proposed
Change of Zone is not necessary at this time to complete the land exchange.
After the exchange, Parker Ranch and DOE may pursue Change of Zone
applications at the appropriate time when their individual plans progress.
Your willingness to hear our views and agree to our request to withdraw the
Application at our meeting yesterday is greatly appreciated.
Mahalo,
l
