Fish for the aquarium trade should be raised and not taken from the wild. I'm so sad to hear of the many fish that end up dying in transport for irresponsible human behavior. In addition, the Maui reefs have less fish and an imbalanced ecosystem. No area of the shoreline should be allowed for fish collecting. If we put up informational signs at the more populated beaches, the public would be informed and would be able to report suspicious behavior. I would support seed funding and responsible transport, for an aquarium business. Let's support the aquarium trade and keep the ecosystem healthy for future generations at the same time.
