Your Committee on Finance, to which was refened Bill No. 308, reports as follows:
Bill No. 308, transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication No. 902,
dated August 22, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 00-63, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending
June 30, 2001. The amendment is as follows:

Fire System Improvement

010-221-5221.33 Miloli`i Water/ Fire System Improvement General $49,000
The Housing and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii is providing funding to the
Hawaii County Fire Department to improve the water storage system at Miloli`i by installing
two new electrically-operated well pumps, a diesel generator, fuel storage, wiring, piping, and
other related items. These improvements are necessary to enable the volunteer fire unit at
Miloli`i to utilize the water system.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 308 and
recommends it pass first reading.
