Dear Chair Yagong and Members of the Council Planning Committee,
I am writing a letter on behalf of Hualalai Partners of Kona, LLC to support their
proposed rezoning on Hualalai Road. I have worked with Ted Barrett for over 6 years
and believe this development would benefit the city of Kona. I believe his construction
background will provide for a quality product and fair business activity.
As a business owner, I understand the difficulty of finding work for the local
residents. Recently, I have cut back on the amount of carpenters because of the job
slowdown. This project is within the growth area for Kona and will employ carpenters,
electricians, and operators as well as the surrounding local businesses.
The proposed subdivision drawings display sensitivity to the surroundings.
Streets and Tots throughout the project blend in with the existing topography which more
resembles a typical Hawaiian neighborhood. This type of residential community is what
the market demands and what the locals will buy when looking for a house.
