I have found everyone I talk to, when they find out what it is about, is against this new building code being forced upon us without even discovering what might be the costs to the people, especially low income households who will have to meet these standards. It has been revealed they are incredibly stringent, especially those concerning hurricane protection. Knowing we have never had a hurricane, why would they be tougher standards compared to those states who experience frequent hurricanes? I understand all who do not meet these requirements would be subject to arrest or loss of property at the whim of our local government. It is also quite obvious this is a UN agenda being forced upon us. I also understand it is a 600 page document that has been passed without even being read by the assemblymen responsible. We do not answer to the UN or any other Anti - American agenda. We can only believe there are other more devious reasons. as was the similar case perpetrated upon us by the health care bill, passed in spite of unanimous disapproval of the people. I do believe if you pass this bill it will ultimately be a detriment to your re- election and have untold consequences upon our freedoms and abilities to obtain private housing, not to mention the great insurance costs if this passes and designated all Hawaii as a hurricane liability. Please reconsider the people who voted for you who will ultimately pay the price for this injustice to them and the cost in freedom of our rights and pursuit of happiness. I am a low income property owner in Paradise Park. Thank you for extending a time to reconsider. Lynn I O'Neill P.O. Box 9623 Keaau, HI 96749 808 966 7229 Comm. No. 1U. 22 Ref.
