To Whom It May Concern,
I'm strongly opposed to this bill. It would be criminalizing people for not having the
money or desire to follow building code laws that make almost no sense for living in
Hawaii. People should be free to live the way they wish on their own land. I am not
coming to your house to tell you how to build your house. I would like everyone in Hawaii
to have the same respect and sovereignty on the property.
There are many many many safe and beautiful ways to build homes besides following the
county codes. It should not be illegal to live a sustainable or alternative lifestyle.
I absolutely oppose SB 277 and ask that as my representative you also oppose it. It as
bad for the people of Hawaii, especially lower Puna.
