Your Committee on Finance, to which was refereed Resolution No. 318-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 318-OQ transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication
No. 909, dated August 21, 2000, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mari-jo Allen.
Mari-jo Allen has graciously donated a miniature horse for educational and display purposes to
the Department of Parks & Recreation for the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo. The value of this
donation is estimated at $2,500.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mari jo Allen, P.O. Box 2803, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743,
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No.318-00
and recommends its adoption.
