Crawford Director Deanna S. Sako Deputy Director o.• Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Ka'u High — Pahala Elementary gym & CD Shelter project for $17,900,000 to the Capital Budget. These state funds are authorized by the Governor of Hawaii pursuant to Act 160, SLH 2009, Item K11.02 as amended by Act 180, SLH 2010 for the design and construction of a new gymnasium /civil defense shelter on the ground of Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School. Time is of the essence to expedite the project. To this end, the Department of Public Works is requesting to waive the Finance Committee review, and have this bill placed on the October 19, 2011 Council meeting agenda.
