Comm. 396: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 3 OF THE
(Bill 114) HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO
BUS STOPS AND PUBLIC ROAD TAXI STANDS.
From Public Works Director Warren Lee, dated September 27, 2011. The bill amends
Article 10, Division 3, Bus Stops and Public Road Taxi Stands, Section 24-275,
Schedule 23, subsection(c) South Hilo, to revise the timeframe in item number five from
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.,to 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on school days. This amendment is
being proposed to accommodate the revised release time at the Connections Charter
School.

From Public Works Director Warren Lee, dated September 27, 2011. The bill adds
"Hooko Street,both sides, from Paniolo Avenue and extending three hundred thirty feet
in the westerly direction"to Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-280,
Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection(e)Kohala. This amendment was
generated in an effort to restrict people from parking in the subject area, which causes
problems during start and end times on school days at the Waikoloa Elementary School.

Comm. 398: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 29, WATER USE AND DEVELOPMENT,
(Bill 116) OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS
AMENDED), RELATING TO COUNTY WATER SPIGOTS
From Public Works Director Warren Lee, dated September 23, 2011. The bill amends
Section 29-5(c), Authority; Applicability; Use of Public Water Spigots, to clarify that the
spigots shall be used for loading potable water drawn from spigots only and that using
the area to wash cars, boats, etc. is a violation of the section.; and 29-5(d) to clarify that
the maximum amount of water to be drawn from the public spigots is 55 gallons, and
exceeding this amount is a violation of the section.
