It is my pleasure to nominate Jay Uyeda of Council District 8 to the County of Hawaii
Water Board. Mr. Uyeda is 39 -year resident of Hawaii. He presently is the Director of
Development at the Hualalai Resort.
Mr. Uyeda is a member of the Hawai'i Planning Conference and the Hawai'i Society of
Professional Engineers. He states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, he will replace
Joe Reynolds, who resigned and whose term was to end on December 31, 2011.
Mr. Uyeda will be eligible to be re- appointed at that time for a full five -year term to end
on December 31, 2016.
