Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 327-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 327-00, transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via
Communication No. 942, dated September 8, 2000, creates a plumber position for the
Department of Parks & Recreation of the Pazks Maintenance Division.
The Parks Maintenance Division, is desirous of creating a Plumber position due to the ever-
growing problems of maintaining approximately 175 facilities throughout the entire island, just
one plumber is simply inadequate to keep up with the tremendous overload and work requests.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-1.3(c), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor has the power to
"create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...".
Also said Resolution authorizes that $20,584 be transferred from the Parks Maintenance Division
OCE account (010-500-5505.02) to the Parks Maintenance Salaries and Wages
account (010-500-5505.01).
For informational purposes, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No.:527-00
and recommends its adoption.
