Subject: Bill 87 supporting the 2% Open Land fund
Dear Councilmembers,
I am writing to ask that you support Bill 87 to place the 2% Public Access, Open Space
and Natural Resources Preservation Fund on the 2012 ballot. This fund has had a major
effect on the preservation of important natural areas for the use of the Big Island public.
This fund has had strong support from the voters in Hawaii, and that support continues.
It is important to the allow the wishes of the public to be heard by allowing them to vote
to amend the County Charter to include the 2% fund.
Please continue to support this important bill.
