Please vote in favor of Res. 139 -11 (labeling of GMO crops). At this point in time on this island (and to
our knowledge), only papaya are grown with GMO methods, and for good reasons that we all
understand. Since the long -term effects of biotech are mostly theoretical, only time will tell about the
long -term viability of this approach to saving the papaya industry from ring spot. As for human health,
there is mounting evidence that GMO carries health risks. People have the right to know if they are
purchasing GMO products. Please support this resolution.
