Resolution Number 140 -11

I would like to express my opposition to Resolution number 140 -11, and I sincerely hope that
you will consider the need for sound science before making a decision to ban the sale of
aquarium aquatic life on the Big Island. Good management of aquarium fishing is fully
understandable and expected as it is in everyone's best interest to maintain Hawaii's reefs and
its inhabitants. However, it seems that while there are many things negatively impacting the
health of our reefs, aquarium fishing is the one thing that is continually insisted upon as the
primary offender. I believe there is much misinformation being circulated for the purpose
of creating confusion of the facts, and to elicit contempt from the public. With good
management based on scientific research, as well as addressing other environmental issues
that are certainly impacting our reef system, I firmly believe that the aquarium fish industry in
Hawaii is sustainable.
Thank you very much for considering my comments.
Sincerely,
Luci Price
