Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 330-00, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 330-OQ transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication
No. 947, dated October 3, 2000, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the United
States of America for a Statewide Narcotics Task Grant.
The United States of America through the State Department of the Attorney General Crime
Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, is desirous of providing funding for multi-
jurisdictional task force programs that integrate federal, state and local drug law enforcement:
agencies and prosecutors for the purpose of enhancing interagency coordination and intelligence,
and facilitating multi jurisdictional investigations.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, requires that county departments obtain the
consent of the Council to enter into agreement with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive
any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to
those powers.
For informational purposes, Mr. Tyler and Ms. Jacobson voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 330-00
and recommends its adoption.
