Subject: testimony for bill 270
Aloha City Council members,
I am a 61 year old retired commander in the US Navy trying to live sustainably and sensibly in Puna.
I currently have a very low environmental foot print and am extremely healthy and happy.
I do not beieve having a building permit law is there for the health or safety of myself or the others I live
with.
Please consider the inclusion of an amendment stating "adoption of this
regulation does not limit or prevent the adoption of alternative
codes and building regulations by Hawaii County, nor does it require
a future amendment to this bill."
Please remove section 5-48 -5 on Page 17 that changes infractions
from a civil to a criminal offense.
