Aloha,
Bill 270 needs to have an amendment stating "adoption of this
regulation does not limit or prevent the adoption of alternative
codes and building regulations by Hawaii County, nor does it require
a future amendment to this bill."
Please remove section 5 -48 -5 on Page 17 that changes infractions
from a civil to a criminal offense.
It is essential that an alternative building code be adopted as soon as possible. Please do not make
this difficult by passing Bill 270 in it's present form.
It is not in everyone's best interest to create more criminals.
