Subject: Bill 270
Dear County Council members,
I am very concerned about Bill 270 and totally opposed to changing building code
violations from a civil to a criminal offense. Section 5 -48 -5 on page 17 is deeply
troubling. Do you really think it wise and just to send innocent people to jail for not
having enough money to build to a code that is unreasonably strict?
I also support an alternative code for low density rural areas.
Please be sensible, democratically minded and vote no on Bill 270 or amend it to reflect
the opinions above.
