Sako Deputy Director The County of Hawaii has been awarded a total of $321,268 in federal funds from Lle State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General for FY 2011 -12. These funds fife for the purpose of supporting the Victim of Crimes Act (VOCA) program. VOCA provides salaries and wages for five staff, sub - grants for direct services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, child abuse, and limited operating expenses. A Victim of Crimes Act account was appropriated for $300,000 in anticipation of grant funding for FY2011 -12. On September 29, 2011, the Prosecutor's Office was notified that VOCA funding was increased from $300,000 to $315,033. Additionally, on September 15, 2011, they were notified that an additional $6,235 was made available for the VOCA program. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into this account, bringing the total grant appropriation to $321,268.
