Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 178 -11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 178 -11, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication
No. 413, dated October 5, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation of $227 from
Polynesian Adventure Tours, 888 Kalaniana`ole Ave., Unit C, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720. This money
will be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation to improve facilities at Pana`ewa Zoo.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13 -12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Makanani Kaaua, Manager,
Polynesian Adventure Tours, 888 Kalaniana`ole Ave., Unit C, Hilo, Hawaii 96720,
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 178 -11,
and recommends its adoption.
