Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 179 -11, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 179 -11, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 124 by Finance Director Nancy
Crawford via Communication No. 417, dated October 5, 2011, authorizes the Mayor to enter into
an agreement with the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Maternal & Child Health Branch,
pursuant to HRS 46 -7, to support the County of Hawaii Office of the Mayor /Immigration
Information Office's Community Based Child Abuse Prevention Program.
The State of Hawaii Department's of Health, Maternal & Child Health Branch is providing
federally derived funds of $4,995 for the purpose of supporting the Office of the
Mayor /Immigration Information Office's Community Based Child Abuse Prevention.
Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent
of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to
be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 179 -11,
and recommends its adoption.
