Re: Capital Budget ~ ~
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget by re-appropriating the
lapsed fuel tax funds from past fiscal years. These funds will be appropriated back to the
original districts/categories as indicated in Exhibit "A" of the proposed ordinance. The
sources of lapsed funds are detailed in Exhibit "B". The total amount being re-appropriated
with this bill is $7,494,973.83.

A. REQUEST:
Reappropriate the lapsed Fuel Tax Increase funds back to the original districts/categories.
See attached. TOTAL = $7,494,973.83
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
At June 30, 2011, there was a total of $7,494,973.83 of lapsed Fuel Tax Increase funds which need to be
appropriated in order for the Department of Public Works to be able to expend them. Presently, they are in
the following accounts of the Capital Projects Fund:
Fund Balance— Fuel Tax Increase 96-98 $ 212,894.44
Fund Balance— Fuel Tax Increase 98-00 52,572.52
Fund Balance—Fuel Tax Increase 02-04 451,227.67
Fund Balance— Fuel Tax Increase 04-06 2,173,062.92
Fund Balance— Fuel Tax Increase 06-08 2,308,891.93
Fund Balance—Fuel Tax Increase 08-10 2,296,324.35
