SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Amendments Contained Within Comm. No. 454.1;
Which Amends Bill No. 139; Relating to the Hawai`i Fire Code
At the request of the Hawai`i Fire Department, please see below two proposed amendments to
the amendments contained within Communication No. 454.1. The amendments are illustrated by
Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Communication No. 454.1 and bolded for
emphasis (material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken through; material to be added is
underscored).
1. Section 26-13 as provided in Comm. No. 454.1, is amended by amending Section
1.12.20.1, item (4)to read as follows:
"Permit and fee for section [45.5.2.2.4] 69.1.2 are as follows:
A one-time permit and fee of $50.00 dollars for each [42.5.2.2.4] 69.1.2 permit,
Liquefied Petroleum Gas tank installation of 125 gallons or greater."
2. Section 26-19, as provided in Comm. No. 454.1, is amended by amending Section
10.11.1, item (8)(b)iv. to read as follows:
"iv. Means of extinguishment [Supply] shall be suitable to the AHJ and shall be capable of
total extinguishment."
