Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of twenty oxygen delivery systems from the
North Hawaii Community Hospital, 67 -1125 Mamalahoa Highway, Kamuela, HI 96743.
This equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department's EMS facilities to afford a
non - invasive option for EMS practitioners to provide respiratory support through a mask
rather than the invasive endotracheal intubation.

Please prepare a resolution to accept a donation of twenty (20) Emergent Respiratory Products Port-O -Vent
CPAP Oxygen Delivery Systems for our 15 EMS stations plus 5 spare units, with a total price of
$32,444.16; from the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Also send a letter of appreciation to:

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation is provided by the generous North Hawaii Community Hospital donors to the Fire Department
for its EMS services. Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) is an emerging non - invasive option for EMS
practitioners to provide respiratory support through a mask rather than the invasive endotracheal intubation.
