Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $1,000 from Target, 74 -5455
Makala Blvd., Kailua -Kona, HI 96740. The Police Department indicates that this
equipment will be used to purchase equipment and supplies to prepare the department
for disaster situations.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
the funds into the Hawaii Police Department Kona Police Division's "Other Current
Expenses" (OCE) account.

A. REQUEST:
To accept a donation of $1,000.00 from Target to purchase equipment and supplies to prepare the
department for disaster situations under account number 010 - 201 - 5212.02.235.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Target is donating funds to be used to purchase equipment to prepare and assist the department with
disaster situations. The funding will be used to purchase 2 laptops to track personnel that are assisting in
disaster situations and power point training of personnel.

On behalf of Target, I would like to offer your department's Community Policing
Section in Kailua - Kona, a Public Safety Grant donation in the amount of $1,000
to be used for disaster preparedness. The funds may be utilized for equipment,
