No. 502/Bill 158 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:02 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 158, reports as follows: <br /> Bill 158, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 502, dated <br /> December 7, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11-59, as amended, the Operating Budget for the <br /> County of Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. The amendment is as follows: <br /> From: <br /> 010.3304.02 State Grants - EMS General $15,715.85 <br /> To: <br /> 010.221.5227.46 Basic EMT Training Equipment General $15,715.85 <br /> The State of Hawai`i Department of Health has increased funding by an additional $15,715.85 <br /> for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) equipment at the Fire Department's dispatch office, for <br /> four Telex C-Soft Consoles. In the current fiscal year's budget, $14,358,592 was appropriated <br /> for this account, bringing the total appropriation to $14,374,307.85. <br /> Fire Chief Darren Rosario appeared before Your Committee. He provided a brief overview of <br /> the equipment's use and its purpose. These consoles will allow EMS to tie into Police and Fire <br /> dispatch's protocols and equipments. This new equipment was identified to update dispatch <br /> centers and will also improve its functionality. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent <br /> of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action <br /> to be taken pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or <br /> other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> FC Report No. 174 <br />
