DEPARTMENT AND DIVISION: Public Works 2. DATE: 11/9/2011 3. PROJECT NAME: Parking Assessment Islandwide 4. SUBMITTER: Ronald L. Thiel 5. CAPITAL PROJECT ELIGIBIILTY (List Criteria): Land acquisition, Infrastructure improvements, Planning, Feasibility, Engineering, or Design Studies. 10. PROJECT /PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This program includes identifying parking problems at various locations on the island, including schools, parks and beach access points and conducting studies for solutions. Solutions would include improving existing parking areas, leasing additional vacant lots, and improving street parking. Improvements would include such items as: parking lot lights, signs, parking stall strinino etc 11. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION & OUTCOME(S)(List all that apply): Currently, there are numerous areas where traffic congestion occurs because of slow traffic flow while drivers search for parking, or at a school without sufficient oarkine. double oarkine or aueuine of cars while drivers wait for students. 12.
