Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Communication No. 508, reports as follows:
Communication No. 508, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated December 12, 2011,
requests the favorable nomination of Caleb Churchill (VFW) to the Hawai`i County Veterans
Advisory Committee. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a tool grinder at Dril -Quip.
Mr. Churchill is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3875. He states that he is not
affiliated with any political party.
Mr. Churchill is presently serving in this position which expired on December 31, 2011. If he is
confirmed, he will serve a new full term to expire on December 31, 2016.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Communication No. 508, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Mr. Churchill to the Veterans Advisory Committee. It was agreed by all Members present that
he would not have to appear before full Council.
