Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Communication No. 509, reports as follows:
Communication No. 509 transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated December 12, 2011,
requests the favorable nomination of Minoru Hanato to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory
Committee. Mr. Hanato is a lifelong resident of Hawai`i. He states that he is not affiliated with
any political party.
Mr. Hanato is presently serving in this position which expired on December 31, 2011.
If he is confirmed, he will serve a new full term to expire on December 31, 2016.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Communication No. 509, and recommends confirmation of Mr. Hanato to the Veterans
Advisory Committee. It was agreed by all Members present that he would not have to appear
before full Council.
