Comm. 519: AUTHORIZES THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
(Res. 210-12) WITH THE RESEARCH CORPORATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII(RCUH)
WITH RESPECT TO AN EVALUATION OF THE DRUG,ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO
PREVENTION PROGRAM(DAT)
DAT is a program to prevent underage consumption of drug,alcohol,and tobacco by school-age
children, and is administered by the County of Hawai`i's Department of Liquor Control. A
Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Hawaii and RCUH,who will conduct a
study of the DAT program to measure its effectiveness, is needed to accomplish and fund this
study.

Council will be conducting this Committee meeting via videoconference. Council Members will be present at the
