STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEM(S) ON THE AGENDA REFERRAL(S) Comm. 520: AUTHORIZES THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE (Res. 211-12) THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO THE UNITED STATES & CANADA I.D. CHECKING GUIDE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL Authorizes the Department of Liquor Control to enter into a three-year subscription for the United States & Canada I.D. Checking Guide in an effort to help licensees within the County of Hawai‘i identify false forms of identification by providing them with a copy of this subscription as a reference and training guide to help verify current valid forms of identification. RECOMMENDS ADOPTION OF RES. 211-12, AS AMENDED, TO DRAFT 2: Ayes: Committee Members Blas, Ford, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Pilago, Smart, Yoshimoto, and Acting Chair Yagong – 8. Noes: None. Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer FC-26 Page 2 January 19, 2012 Comm. 521: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE (Bill 164) COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 FOR APPROPRIATION OF AN ENERGY REBATE Increases revenues in Sundry Revenues – Current Year ($41,863); and appropriates same to Energy – Research and Development. Funds would be used by the Research and Development Department to lease and/or purchase one or more electric vehicles. RECOMMENDS PASSAGE OF BILL 164 ON FIRST READING: Ayes: Committee Members Blas, Ford, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Pilago, Smart, Yoshimoto, and Acting Chair Yagong – 8. Noes: None. Absent: Committee Member Onishi – 1. Excused: None. Comm. 522: AUTHORIZES THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,000 TO THE (Res. 212-12) HAWAI‘I FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BE USED TO HELP PAY FOR MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES USED FOR FIRE PREVENTION WEEK Donated by Wal-Mart, the funds will be used by the Fire Department to purchase materials and supplies for Fire Prevention Week. RECOMMENDS ADOPTION OF RES. 212-12: Ayes: Committee Members Blas, Ford, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Pilago, Smart, Yoshimoto, and Acting Chair Yagong – 8. Noes: None. Absent: Committee Member Onishi – 1. Comm. 523: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE (Bill 165) COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 Appropriates revenues in Videotaping Contribution – Na Leo ‘O Hawai‘i ($75,000); and appropriates same to Videotaping – Na Leo ‘O Hawai‘i. Accepts a monetary contribution from Na Leo ‘O Hawai‘i, Inc., for production costs associated with the videotaping of Council meetings for the period of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. RECOMMENDS PASSAGE OF BILL 165 ON FIRST READING: Ayes: Committee Members Blas, Ford, Hoffmann, Ikeda, Pilago, Smart, Yoshimoto, and Acting Chair Yagong – 8. Noes: None.
