I would like to request time for this presentation during the January 31, 2012 meeting of the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability. Due to their availability, I would like to request that the presentation be scheduled after 1:00 p.m. I estimate that 30 minutes will be sufficient for this presentation, which will include time for questions from the Council Members. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Warmest Aloha! DY /bc Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island Hawai `i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer Comm. No. Ss1 Ref. OTI is negotiating a lease with NELHA for a 1- megawatt demonstration ocean thermal energy conversion plant there. OTI is also in advanced PPA negotiations with HECO for a 100 - megawatt plant off O`ahu. As Council Chair, I thought it would be a good idea to contact you and see if OTI could be placed on the agenda for the next committee meeting, which is set for Tuesday, January 31. The principals, Eileen O'Rourke and Barry Cole, will be in Kona that day and meeting with the NELHA board from 10:00 am to 1:OOpm. I am hoping that they can make a brief presentation to the Council, saving some time for Q &A, after their meeting with NELHA. Because this project is set to take place on Hawaii Island, I thought it would be wise for OTI to make contact with the County Council and brief members on the initial demonstration project. Thank you for considering my request. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
